After a 13 hour flight, several hours of train and one hour ferry or subway for some students, we finally all arrived to Sofunland in Shenzhen. This big complex just minutes away from the Southern University of Science and Technology will be our home for the next 10 days.
We get a minimalistic Japanese style bedroom with two thin beds and a bathroom with a shower and hit the bed to start our journey.
Next morning we gather for breakfast at 7:30am and feast on a buffet of noodles, rice soup, eggs, bread, black tea and coffee.
The bus picks us up at 8:30 and we head to SUSTech to meet our colleagues from the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) and Hong Kong University (HKUST) for the first time. After an 8 minute ride we check in to get our name tags, campus guides and official summer program vests. We started the day with a presentation about the partner universities and we continue our day with an ice breaking games such as a scavenger hunt inside the campus and some video making.
Finally we head to the convention center and we have dinner all together as we watch the videos we made thought out the day.
We all got
along very well and find chinese people very friendly, helpful and we are very
curious to continue this adventure at their side.
